If you haven’t ever been at Cannstatter Volksfest in Stuttgart you’ll probably ever know how much german people are funny, friendly and great in making parties with good food, music and drinks. We started our tradition of going every year at the Stuttgart Volksfest in 2011 – we only skipped it last year because we were in honeymoon – and each time we have so much fun to decide to return the next year.
It’s not only about drinking beer and getting drunk. The party itself it’s the reason to having great time. First of all, it takes place in the middle of a fair like a carnival with rollercoasters, carousels and open-air market. Second, food is so yummy, live music is so fantastic, people are so friendly that you’ll always make friends and at the end you say goodbye like you know each other since decades and you’re going to move to the other side of the world.
You can take a lot of pictures too, because everybody is dressed in southern germany traditional clothes like lederhosen for men and dirndl for women – but you can find also the opposite as well! Nobody is shy or doesn’t want to be photographed while they’re drinking, dancing or singing so it’s quite manna from heaven for camera addicted like me!
Last but not least Stuttgart is such a beautiful city, full of restaurants, picturesque alleys, huge parks and specially during fall season, full of leaves changing trees. Foliage is more colored in southern Germany than in Italy so it is a complete joy for the eyes for me.
Following pictures have been taken during our journey by train – a slow, relaxing way to travel and to relish the landscape through Switzerland and Southern Germany – then during the Volksfest on Sathurday and our departure on Sunday morning.
Special thanks to our fellowship: my brother Lorenzo, Mariacaterina, Marco and Nicola!
Because Cannstatter Volksfest is better with the good company of your friends!
Ein Prosit!
