Val d’Orcia is one of the most beautiful places on Earth – imho. You know, I was born in Tuscany, I cannot be completely unbiased about it ;)
It’s a green charming valley full of hills, cypresses small woods, wheat fields and ancient orography called “Crete Senesi” placed less than one hour travel by car from worldwide well-known Siena and Montalcino. If you have ever seen a popular poto about Tuscany with traditional stone houses, grapewines rows up and bunch of cypress up to the hills, that photo was surely taken in this particular area. I’ve been there few days ago for a short trip with my husband and my brother – ’cause it is not so far from my parent’s house in Arezzo – and it was so amazing.
First time for my husband in this part of Tuscany: obviously he has been really astonished by the experience, and the food as well. Sunny sky, soft breeze, relaxing lunch with a stunning view of the countryside, and pleasant time spent wandering by car in the whole area. Nothing else needed to spent a memorable day!!!
